Supervisor Perez Statement on Thermal Airport

February 5, 2026

THERMAL – This morning, Supervisor V. Manuel Perez’s office looked into claims that Customs and Border Protection aircraft carrying 100 agents landed yesterday at the Thermal Airport. After checking with the county’s Aviation Division and an aviation business on-site, Desert Jet, that information is unfounded.

Two Department of Homeland Security aircraft landed at Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal, carrying only mechanics and flight crew personnel. One plane is set to leave today.

Supervisor Perez is sharing this to prevent unnecessary concern in our community.
