Economic Summit to Present Economic Developments Coming to Desert Region

INDIO – On Thursday, Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, along with Blythe and all nine Coachella Valley cities, will present a State of the Fourth District Economy.
The event, which is part of the 8th annual economic summit organized by the Riverside County Office of Economic Development, will share a detailed look at the region from an economic development standpoint.
Over 650 attendees will hear from and have a space for dialogue with guest speakers representing key economic sectors from tourism, agriculture and the business community. It will feature highlights of Riverside County and all the cities as well as an economic forecast by economist Dr. Christopher Thornberg.
“I am proud and excited that we will be taking our annual Economic Conference to a new level,” said Supervisor Perez. “We will take a deep dive on the local economy, highlight the economic developments across our region, and hear from leaders from multiple sectors of the economy on their work and strategies to advance economic development and jobs. The event starts at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Special Events Center.
