Supervisor Perez Expresses Condolences on Fire Personnel Who Perished Fighting Cabazon Fire

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez reached out to Riverside County Fire Chief Bill Weiser this morning to offer his sympathy on the passing of two CAL FIRE employees and a contract pilot who perished in a helicopter collision while battling a residential structure fire and brush fire in the community of Cabazon Sunday evening.

“It is with great sadness that three members of our fire service perished protecting us from fire,” said Supervisor Perez. “It is a horrible tragedy when those who serve the community do not return home to their families. I pray for their families and the rest of Riverside County Fire Personnel.”

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez represents the Fourth Supervisorial District on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. The largest district in the county by geography, the 4^th District covers eastern Riverside County, from Whitewater, stretching across the entire Coachella Valley south to the Salton Sea, up Highway 74 to Idyllwild and the mountain communities, and heading east of the Coachella Valley to Blythe and the Colorado River.
