February 6, 2026
DIAMOND BAR – Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez today was sworn in to a new term on the Governing Board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD), following his reappointment by his colleagues on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to represent Riverside County on the air quality district.
Supervisor Perez was also named Chairman of South Coast AQMD’s Legislative Committee.
A longtime advocate for clean air and equitable economic growth policies, Supervisor Perez has championed efforts to reduce emissions, expand community engagement, and secure resources for communities most impacted by poor air quality, including strong support for the AB 617 program under South Coast AQMD.
Supervisor Perez is also engaging the air quality district to take on the challenge of dust in the Coachella Valley as a regional priority, and requesting a call to action by them, CARB and EPA.
“I am honored to continue serving on the South Coast AQMD Board,” said Supervisor Perez. “Clean air is essential to the health of our families and our economy, and I remain committed to advancing practical, community-focused solutions.”
The South Coast AQMD oversees air quality for Orange County and parts of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. Supervisor Perez’s reappointment ensures continued representation for eastern Riverside County residents and reinforces the county’s commitment to science-based, collaborative solutions for cleaner air.
