INDIO – After taking place virtually last year, the annual Senior Inspiration Awards program which honors the community’s active senior volunteers is returning to an in-person event format, with an awards luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center, Hall A, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio.

INDIO – After taking place virtually last year, the annual Senior Inspiration Awards program which honors the community’s active senior volunteers is returning to an in-person event format, with an awards luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center, Hall A, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio.

 

Tickets are on sale now for the 2022 Senior Inspiration Awards online at seniorinspirationawards, and are $30 per person and includes lunch.

 

“I am excited to announce the Senior Inspiration Awards event, which will be celebrating its 30th year!” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “We look forward to the return of this luncheon, and to recognizing these extraordinary honorees and having their family members, friends and the community join in this special occasion.”

 

This major event was established in 1992 by Riverside County and all nine Coachella Valley cities to recognize the community’s unsung heroes, senior citizens 65 years of age and older who inspire others through their volunteerism and contributions to the community.

 

This year’s honorees are: Sharon Huddleston and Josie Martinez (Riverside County), Terry Nelson (Cathedral City), Noelia Gonzalez (Coachella), Donna Lozano (Desert Hot Springs), Clive Weightman (Indian Wells), Eugenie Balentine (Indio), Victory Grund (La Quinta), Ricardo Loretta (Palm Desert), Kathleen C. Cohn (Palm Springs) and Bunni Benaron (Rancho Mirage).
