As part of the process of this infrastructure effort called ECV Próspera, more meetings are planned to gather community members’ input on projects.

The next meeting of the Public Financing Authority of the Eastern Coachella Valley EIFD is at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, on Tuesday, July 18. Following that meeting, Riverside County is holding an ECV Próspera Town Hall and Community Resources meeting at the Mecca Boys & Girls Club on August 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. that will present more information about the initiative.

Tuesday’s meeting will be held in Riverside, and by Zoom, with English and Spanish language video streams. There will also be an option to participate locally at the Mecca Library, which will host a livestream.

Supervisor Perez encourages community members to participate in this initiative, which can help fund improvements to infrastructure in areas such as water and sewer, electricity and telecommunications, housing, community facilities and the Salton Sea.

“ECV Próspera, ECV Prosper, is a plan for how we can improve conditions in the eastern Coachella Valley communities,” said Supervisor Perez. “We welcome your participation and ideas in this exciting process that will lead us to much‑needed projects for the eastern Coachella Valley.”
