January 16, 2025
INDIO – Organizers of the Date Festival Parade are encouraging school groups, equestrians, classic car enthusiasts and other dazzling entrants, from throughout the Coachella Valley and across Riverside County, to join the lineup of the annual parade.
The Riverside County President’s Day Grand Parade, a tradition of the annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, will take place Monday, February 17 in downtown Indio. The parade will step off at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Miles Avenue and Deglet Noor Street.
This year’s parade will have a new route due to construction on Oasis Street. The parade will proceed east on Miles Avenue to Towne Street, south to Highway 111 and west to the Riverside County Fairgrounds.
“The Date Festival Parade is one of our community parades and it’s one of the favorite events of the Fair that I remember going back to elementary school,” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “As part of our Riverside County Fair and expanding the reach so more families and more generations experience the Date Festival, we want to get more cities and communities all throughout the county represented.”
Applications for participation are now being accepted online, and groups, organizations and individuals interested in being part of the parade can apply at www.datefest.org/p/about/parade.
The parade is proudly sponsored by the Riverside County Facilities Management Department and the City of Indio.
