911 System Fully Restored; County of Riverside Statement on 911 System Interruptions

LA QUINTA – Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, in coordination with the Riverside County Executive Office and public safety departments, provides the following County of Riverside statement on the 911 system, which is fully restored this afternoon after having interruptions that started yesterday (Wednesday) impacting eastern Riverside County:
“Unfortunately, we experienced interruptions in our 911 system in eastern Riverside County yesterday. Interruptions for some cell phone carriers continued into today. As of 3:30 p.m. today, 911 is fully restored for all residents and cell phone carriers.
“The county has sent out two AlertRivCo messages to inform residents about the outage and the Sheriff’s Office has posted messages on the department’s social media accounts.
“There are active investigations into how the interruptions occurred and what solutions are needed to prevent further outages. Please follow up with the Sheriff’s Office for more information.”

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez represents the Fourth Supervisorial District on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. The largest district in the county by geography, the 4th District covers eastern Riverside County, from Whitewater, stretching across the entire Coachella Valley south to the Salton Sea, up Highway 74 to Idyllwild and the mountain communities, and heading east of the Coachella Valley to Blythe and the Colorado River.
