Thrillville Opens Friday at the Riverside County Fairgrounds

INDIO – Thrillville kicks off 10 days of fun in Indio with gates opening at noon Friday, February 18 at the Riverside County Fairgrounds (46-350 Arabia Street).

The festival, which is temporarily taking the place of the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival this year, will feature food vendors, rides, exhibits, concerts and community performances, and additional events Riverside County is putting together along with local partners.

“Riverside County Facilities Management is happy to partner with Thrillville to hold an event in Indio – the City of Festivals – and at our Riverside County Fairgrounds, that will offer something new, as well as many returning favorites, for families, the community and visitors to enjoy!” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “We are very fortunate to have an event that will be positive for the community and provide a safe and healthy opportunity for entertainment outdoors in the Coachella Valley’s pleasant and unrivaled weather this time of year. Come on out for a good time!”

Thrillville starts Friday and runs through Feb. 27. The entrance to Thrillville is at gate 6, located off Dr. Carreon Boulevard. Please note that the gate 1 entrance off Highway 111 will not be used for this event.

Admission is $10 per person per day, with discounts on some days. Veterans, seniors over 65 and children under five receive free admission. Parking at the Fairgrounds parking lot is $10 per vehicle.

Admission includes entry to nearly all concerts. Separate tickets will need to be purchased to get into two events, the Espectacular Jaripeo Baile on Feb. 20 and the Voz de Mando concert on Feb. 27. The following concerts are free with regular admission: Lakeside, Metalachi, Bone Thumpers, Bumptown, King Sol & The Vibes, dysFUNKsion, LawKnee, No Raja, Pescaterritory, and Mariachi Tierra Mexicana de Coachella.

In addition to the amusement provided by Thrillville, LLC, Riverside County has formed partnerships to bring several favorite events from the Fair to enhance the experience.

Riverside County, the City of Indio and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino are sponsoring the annual President’s Day Grand Parade at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21. The parade will be led by grand marshal: Dodgers great, World Series champion and Coachella Valley resident Steve Garvey.

The Riverside County Fair Board and Supervisor Perez are hosting the annual flag raising ceremony that honors our country and our nation’s veterans and service members at 1 p.m. Feb. 21 at the U.S. flagpole in the Taj Mahal Building Courtyard.

The Junior Livestock Auction, an annual event supporting Riverside County 4-H and FFA youth, will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 26.
